GREENSBORO, N.C. – Rachel Pocratsky of Virginia Tech's track and field team has been named Co-ACC Women's Track Performer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
This marks the first time this season, and the third time of her career that she has received a weekly award from the conference.
The Senior earned her third gold medal of the season as she won the 800 meters at the Iowa State Classic with her time of 2 minutes, 05.2 seconds. Her time is currently the seventh-fastest in the nation and the fastest in the ACC.
Four others were selected by the ACC for weekly honors, including Virginia's Jordan Scott (Men's Field), NC State's Cravont Charleston (Men's Track), Virginia's Bridget Guy (Women's Field) and Miami's Tiara McMinn (Co-Women's Track).
The Hokies return to Rector Field House for their final regular-season home meet as they host the Virginia Tech Challenge, while several student-athletes head to Winston-Salem for the JDL DMR Invitational. Both meets begin Feb. 15 on Friday afternoon and carries through Saturday Feb. 16.
