BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech women's tennis team is set to host Purdue in a 3 p.m. match on Friday, Feb. 1, at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. Tech will turn around and make the trip to Missouri for a 12 p.m. ET match on Sunday, Feb. 3 in Columbia, Mo.

THE HOKIES
Virginia Tech will return to action after splitting results last weekend. The Hokies swept JMU, 7-0 in the evening match, but fell in a close 4-3 decision to ETSU to open the day.
Against ETSU, the pair of Nika Kozar and Nina Sorkin, along with Annie Clark and Emily Pence, won their doubles matches to give the Hokies the point. Shene Disbergen and Nina Sorkin claimed their singles matches for Tech.
Sorkin and Disbergen claimed their second singles victories of the day against the Dukes. Tech also claimed the doubles point with wins on all three courts. Natalie Novotna, Nika Kozar, Sammi Gillas and Elizabet Danailova also secured victories in their respective singles matches.
THE BOILERMAKERS
This will mark the Boilermakers second trip to Blacksburg and their first since 2007. The Hokies are 2-1 all-time against Purdue, most recently beating them 7-0 in 2017.
Purdue stands 3-1 on the season, while their last outing was a 4-3 defeat against No. 24 Syracuse. They have one player ranked in ITA Top-25, Silvia Ambrosio at No. 19.
THE TIGERS
Missouri also split results last weekend, defeating Morgan State 7-0 but falling to Old Dominion 4-2. Ellie Wright and Vivien Abraham claimed singles wins in both matches to score for the Tigers.
The Tigers are 4-1 on the season and enter the weekend with Risa Fukutoku ranked 60th in the ITA singles standings.
UP NEXT: The Hokies will remain on the road to open the ACC slate, traveling to Clemson on Friday, Feb. 8 for a 3 p.m. match.
