BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech women's basketball team (13-5, 0-5) returns home after Sunday's thrilling overtime game to face the North Carolina Tar Heels on Carilion Clinic Court Thursday evening. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen on ACC Network Extra.

SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS
The Heels (10-9, 1-4) most recently fell at Miami this past Sunday 76-68. The club's only league win was over Wake Forest, an 84-61 triumph where all five starters scored in double figures led by Taylor Koenen's 21 points.
On the season, the Heels are averaging 75 points per game, while shooting the ball at a 42 percent clip.
Janelle Bailey has been their most dynamic player, averaging 16.2 points per game and pulling down 8.6 rebounds.
SERIES HISTORY
The Hokies and Heels are set for the 25thmeeting in series history Thursday with North Carolina owning an 18-6 advantage all-time.
The first meeting was in 1979.
Tech has won each of the last two meetings, including a 90-74 road victory last season which was noteworthy. It was the first time since 2005 that the Hokies had reached 90 points in an ACC game. Four Hokies scored in double figures, lead by Taylor Emery's 25 and Regan Magarity's double-double tallying 24 points and 13 rebounds.
GAME PROMOTION
The game is billed as one of Tech's Throwback Thursday nights, featuring the 50's. Fans can purchase one ticket and one t-shirt for $14. HokieBird bucket hats will be handed out to the first 100 fans.
Additionally, the Athletics Department announce early Wednesday that all federal employees will be offered two complimentary tickets to the game when they present a valid I.D. at the promotions entrance (door 8) in the Cassel Coliseum lobby.
