Five questions with Miles Green

Editor's note: Every Wednesday throughout the fall, we'll catch up with track and field student-athletes and coaches for five questions.

Q: You came in as a highly rated prospect. Do you feel any pressure to prove yourself?

Miles: "Not really, I know what I am capable of, I know what I can do and it's just a matter of doing it."

Q: What do you believe your strengths are and how do you believe you can help this program?

Miles: "Definitely my hurdles and my 400. I want to try to get points in the 400 hurdles outdoor. Hopefully, try to get points in the indoor 400, 4x4 and outdoor 400 hurdles."

Q: What are you looking forward to most this upcoming season?

Miles: "ACC Indoor Championships because it's going to be here and ACC Outdoor Championships because it's at UVA and I get to run against my friend Brandon Outlaw."

Q: When you are getting ready to do an event like the 400, 4x400, or 400 hurdles, what is going through your head during your whole process?

Miles: "Execute, execute, execute. Definitely got to stay focused. I am not really focused on anyone else during the race. If they are faster than me, I focus on my time and then execute."

Q: Talk about your relationship with coach Tim Vaught and how he made you feel comfortable coming here and what went to your decision to come to Virginia Tech?

Miles: "He was the first person to actually contact me, so me and him have been talking to each other for a long time. I kind of steered away from Virginia Tech, I was looking at other schools. Then a couple things happened and I had to narrow my choices down. I narrowed it down to Virginia Tech and a couple other schools. I did an official visit at another school and when I came here and did my official visit, I fell in love with the school, coaches, the way they trained and I told myself I don't need to take anymore official visits. This is where I want to go."
