Hokies add another exhibition game to fall schedule

BLACKSBURG – Due to the cancellation of last week's exhibition game against Charlotte, Virginia Tech baseball has added back to its schedule another contest this fall. The Hokies will now face Walters State at English Field at Union Park on Wednesday, Oct. 10 with a 4:30 p.m. start time.

Five days before the game against the Senators, on Friday, Oct. 5, Tech will play the High Point Panthers on campus, the night before the Hokies' football game against Notre Dame, with a scheduled 7 p.m. first pitch.

There will be free admission for both games and concession stands will be open.

In April, the NCAA Division I Council adopted a few legislative proposals relating to baseball and one of those was allowing teams the ability to play fall exhibition games without them counting against the 56-game spring schedule. Previously, teams were allowed to play games in the fall, but those would count against a program's 56-game slate.
