BLACKSBURG – Due to the impending weather forecast for the area this weekend, the Virginia Tech women's soccer match against No. 5 Virginia scheduled for Friday at Thompson Field has been postponed. The programs are working together in an attempt to find a makeup date for the ACC contest.
The Hokies (4-1-3), who are winners of two straight and unbeaten in their past three, now have the next week off before traveling to the Sunshine State. Tech will now face the Florida State Seminoles, who are currently ranked No. 2 in the nation, for its ACC opener on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. and will then head to Coral Gables, Florida to face the Miami Hurricanes on Sept. 23 with kickoff slated for noon.
