BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech fans enjoyed new fan experience technology during this past basketball season, and now the Virginia Tech Athletics Department is going to bring that experience to Lane Stadium this fall.
The department and Experience, an Atlanta-based mobile technology company, have partnered to deliver new fan experience technology to Virginia Tech football fans for the 2018 season.
Starting this season, fans will be able to use their smartphones to purchase football fan experience options from the athletics department. Branded "Maroon & Orange Memories," these experiences include such things as:
• a Friday locker room tour and on-field photos for home games
• a photo with the HokieBird, a pregame photo on the field
• a pregame sideline pass to watch Enter Sandman from field level
• taking the Tunnel Walk with the team
• an opportunity to purchase a videoboard message
• a postgame photo on the field
With all of the photo-based experiences, every effort will be made to have the photo professionally taken by a Virginia Tech photographer.
Only fans with game tickets are allowed to purchase any of the offerings, unless otherwise specified.
Further, we are pleased to announce the addition of seat upgrades to Maroon & Orange Memories. In the 24 hours leading up to gameday, available seat inventory will be offered as seat upgrade purchases. Fans must already have a primary ticket into the game to use seat upgrades, as these upgrades do not provide admission to Lane Stadium.
Hokie Club members and football season ticket holders get an added bonus when they sign up for Maroon & Orange Memories. They receive up to a $10 credit when they sign up using the email that corresponds with their Hokie Club /Ticket Office account.
Seat upgrades also will be available on the Maroon & Orange platform. In the 24 hours leading up to gameday, if there are any open seats, they will be made available for upgrade. Upgrades are only available for those with a game ticket.

The Maroon & Orange offerings are listed toward the bottom of the page, along with frequently asked questions. Be sure to click the "Send notifications only for this event" and "Send notifications only for all future events" to receive text alerts when upgrades go on sale.
Once a Tech fan signs up, he or she receives a text message alert when offerings become available. Within the text message is a link that allows fans to browse and purchase memories with a credit card. At the game, one needs to head back to hokiesports.com/experience on his/her phone to redeem the purchase and enjoy.
