Eberle named to All-ACC Academic Softball Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech sophomore Carrie Eberle has been named to the All-ACC Academic Softball Team, the conference office announced Monday.

Eberle's all-academic team selection joins her lengthy list of offseason accolades that features second-team All-ACC, second-team NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region and CoSIDA Academic All-District III honors. This year marks the second All-ACC Academic Team appearance in as many seasons for Eberle.

A standout in the circle and at the plate for the Hokies in 2018, Eberle led her team with eight home runs and a 1.72 ERA. She also posted a .518 slugging percentage, a clip that ranked second, with 17 RBI, four doubles and a .264 batting average. Eberle racked up 187.0 innings and registered 12 wins, 21 complete games, 131 strikeouts and six shutouts. Opponent's hit only .182 against her.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
