Virginia Tech men's golfer Ian Hildebrand has been named to the 2018 All-ACC Academic Men's Golf Team. This is Hildebrand's first year on the team.
Hildebrand, who graduated in May with a degree in Finance, is a native of Purcellville, Virginia. He appeared in 10 of the team's 11 matches this season. He was fourth on the team in scoring average, at 73.90 and fifth in final round scoring average, at 74.20. He had a career-best third place finish at the Furman Intercollegiate in March.
NC State junior Stephen Franken was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Rod Myers Scholar-Athlete of the Year. To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
