BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head men's tennis coach Jim Thompson announces the 2019 spring slate, highlighted by 19 home matches.
The Hokies open on January 17 with Boston University coming to town. Beginning January 19-21, the Hokies are set to host the Virginia Tech Invitational.
Tech is set to compete in the ITA Kickoff again this season, traveling to New York to compete against Columbia on January 26. The Hokies will face either Kentucky or Dartmouth on the second day.
The Hokies will return home for six straight non-conference home matches with doubleheaders on Feb. 8 (Brown and JMU), Feb. 10 (St. Bonaventure and Davidson) and Feb. 22 (Duquesne and Liberty).
February 24 marks the ACC opener for the Hokies as they travel to Raleigh to face NC State. They will remain on the road for a Feb. 28 match at defending NCAA Champion Wake Forest.
The Hokies will open the ACC home slate on March 2 against North Carolina. Tech will play seven of its eight March matches at home, concluding with Notre Dame on the 31st. The team will close out its regular season with four road matches including the season finale on April 14 at Virginia.
