CB Kyle Fuller earns initial Pro Bowl berth for Bears

BLACKSBURG - Chicago Bears CB Kyle Fuller has earned a spot in the 2019 Pro Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on January 27. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET on ESPN. Fuller's inaugural Pro Bowl bid makes him the first Tech alum to reach the NFL's all-star game since QB Tyrod Taylor (Buffalo) and S Kam Chancellor (Seattle) both did it following the 2016 season.

Fuller becomes the fourth Tech defensive back to earn a Pro Bowl nod, joining the ranks of Chancellor (4), DeAngelo Hall (3) and Brandon Flowers (1). Fuller earned a contract extension from the Bears in the off-season and has richly rewarded the squad by tying for the NFL lead with seven interceptions as a pair of games still remain in the 2018 regular season schedule. After posting career highs in total tackles (69), solo tackles (61) and passes defensed (22) in 2017, the fourth-year pro already has 21 passes defensed in 2018 to go along with 50 tackles (41 solo).

Fuller is part of an elite football fraternity. He and his three brothers – Vincent, Corey and Kendall – are the only four brothers in NFL history to all play for the same school and all be selected in the NFL Draft. The youngest of the Fuller clan, Kendall, is enjoying a solid season of his own for the Redskins. Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated wrote a definitive piece on the brothers prior to the 2016 NFL Draft.
