BLACKSBURG – For the fifth time in school history, the Virginia Tech women's basketball team has started the season 10-0 following an 83-51 win over visiting Mount St. Mary's Sunday. Four Hokies were in double figures, led by senior guard Taylor Emery's 24 points and forward Regan Magarity reached yet another milestone, pulling down the 1,000th rebound of her career in the game.
The NCAA's rebounding leader in 2018-19, Magarity is one of six active D1 players to reach that mark. She did so while recording a double-double, her seventh of the year, which leads the ACC.

Sunday, Tech got off to a sloppy start, allowing the Mountaineers to hang around, due to 16 total turnovers in the game. Juliette Lawless for The Mount, kept them close, scoring 24 points on the afternoon and shooting 50 percent.
The result drops the Mountaineers to 5-4 on the season.
But it was Emery who stole the headlines, getting Tech going in the early minutes with a jumper and drawing contact to be sent to the free thrown stripe where she is a career 85 percent shooter. Emery finished with 24 points on 10 of 17 shooting, leading the team in points for the seventh time this season. It was the 24th time in her Virginia Tech career, where she reached 20 points in one contest.
Magarity added 18 points and had 10 boards, while freshman Dara Mabrey chipped in with 13 and Trinity Baptiste scored 16 off of the bench.
Rachel Camp, who was limited to 17 minutes, pulled down nine rebounds.
