BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head women's soccer coach Chugger Adair and the Hokies, fresh off a 2018 NCAA Sweet 16 appearance, announced today the newest class to join the program as seven high school seniors have signed their National Letters of Intent during the first week of the signing period.
The class is comprised of three midfielders, two defenders and a forward and goalkeeper. Four of the players come from the Commonwealth of Virginia, while there is one player each from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The Hokies will be losing six seniors to graduation.
"We're very excited to announce this 2019 class," Adair said. "It's been a long time since we've been in the recruiting process with them, so it feels like they've been a part of our group already. We're bringing in some high-quality people into this group. They are good soccer players, who enjoy the game and are always striving to get better.
"These players are going to blend well together with our current group and they'll help us grow this program. Once we get them on campus, we'll have to see how they fit in and the impact that they'll make on the field, off the field and within our group. We're really excited to finally have them signed and formally a part of our family here at Virginia Tech."
The following seven players have all signed with Tech and are listed below alphabetically, followed by their height, position, hometown, high school and latest club team. Over the next few weeks, each will be highlighted individually, which will include bio information, a Get-to-Know and a few images. The first one is set to be released Thursday, while in December, there will be two featured per week. (Updated - click on a player's name to link to their Get-to-Know)
