GREENSBORO, N.C. – Seniors Ben Schiesl and Ashlynn Peters sweep ACC Diver of the Week honors as announced Monday by the league office.
Peters shined for Virginia Tech at the Georgia Tech invite, placing first or second in all three diving events. The senior from Cypress, Texas, won the 1-meter competition, and placed second in the 3-meter and platform events. She turned in NCAA A qualifying scores on all three.
Schiesl won two diving events at the Georgia Tech Invitational and placed fifth in another. The senior from Fairfax, Virginia, won the 1-meter competition with a score of 361.70, and the 3-meter competition with a score of 397.20. Schiesl scored a 311.60 on platform to place fifth.
This marks Schiesl's second weekly honor of his career and second this season. Peters has earned five weekly honors during her career; this is her first this season.
