BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women's basketball team returns home to the confines of Carilion Clinic Court after a 72-61 road victory Tuesday night at Liberty. Tech used a 14-0 run in the second quarter to establish control and never looked back, moving to 3-0 on the season.
Tech will take on Monmouth out of the MAAC, who have started the 2018-19 season 0-3, falling to Bucknell, ECU and Lehigh.

THE MATCHUP WITH MONMOUTH
The Hokies and Hawks have only matched up one time previously, an 84-34 victory for Tech on the road. Taylor Emery led a quartet of Hokies in double figures with 25 points on 9 of 13 shooting.
Monmouth, located in West Long Branch, New Jersey is near freshman point guard Dara Mabrey's hometown of Belmar.

Tech has three players, Mabrey, Emery and Trinity Baptiste who have scored in double figures in each of the first three contests
Mabrey scored 18 points in her college debut last week against USC Upstate. She has continued on the scoring in double figures, dropping 13 points and then 12 points against Georgia Southern and Liberty.
This is the third consecutive year that the women's basketball team has started their season off 3-0.
Regan Magarity, the Hokies' all-time leader in double-doubles has tallied two in the first three games on the season, and grabbed 15 more rebounds on Tuesday night in Lynchburg.

The Hokies will remain at home for a contest against Chattanooga on Monday, Nov. 19. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. from Carilion Clinic Court.

Due to the Eric Paslay concert in Lot 2, Beamer Way will close at 6:00 PM on Friday. Lot 1 pass holders for women's basketball should enter Lot 1 from Washington Street. Public parking for women's basketball will be available in Lot 8, the Litton-Reaves lot.
CLEAR BAG POLICY
To provide a safer environment for spectators and to expedite fan entry in to Virginia Tech Athletic venues, Virginia Tech Athletics will implement a new clear bag policy for the 2018-19 season. The policy will allow for a better and quicker experience at gates and is also a public safety measure that is being successfully implemented at other large venues including fellow ACC venues.
