The Hokies earned the 12 seed Monday, which comes with a bye in the opening round of the competition which begins on Thursday evening. Tech will await the winner of the Charlotte and Georgia Southern game.
Tech's Second Round match will be played at Thompson Field with kickoff set for 3 p.m.
Tech finished 10-6-3 in 2018, while boasting a top 10 RPI as well as having the No. 8 hardest schedule in the country. The Hokies played nine different teams who were included in the 48-team field, beating Air Force to begin the season, getting a result on the road at UCF, drawing Virginia and defeating Syracuse twice.
It is the first time that the Hokies have earned a national seed since 2007, when Tech made an appearance at the College Cup.
