TECH HOSTS MIAMI IN ACC COASTAL CLASH                
• A pair of former BIG EAST foes meet again as Virginia Tech hosts Miami as both squads seek to bolster their victory totals in ACC play.
• Tech is coming off a 52-22 loss at Pitt (11/10), while Miami suffered a 27-21 loss vs. Georgia Tech (11/10). 
• Virginia Tech owns an 8-6 advantage over Miami since the schools joined the ACC in 2004, including a 4-2 mark at home.
• After a 33-17 loss vs. LSU (9/2), Miami rattled off five straight wins. The Hurricanes are now seeking to snap a four-game losing streak.
• Virginia Tech posted a 24-3 win at FSU (9/3) and is seeking wins over the Seminoles and Hurricanes in the same season for the first time since 2010 when Tech won the ACC title. The Hokies also accomplished the feat en route to an ACC crown in 2007.  
• The home team has won the last three Virginia Tech-Miami games. Miami has lost three straight ACC road games dating back to a 24-14 setback at Pitt (11/24/17). The Hurricanes are seeking to avoid four straight ACC road losses for the first time since 2006-07.
• Miami's most recent ACC road win was a 24-20 victory at North Carolina (10/28/17).
• Both head coaches in Saturday's contest are former college quarterbacks - Justin Fuente (Oklahoma/Murray State) and Mark Richt (Miami).
• Virginia Tech faces UVA next Friday at Lane Stadium (11/23), while Miami hosts Pitt on Saturday (11/24).
 
INSIDE THE SERIES: VIRGINIA TECH-MIAMI
• Saturday will see the 36th meeting in the all-time series between Virginia Tech and Miami.
• The first game between the two programs came on Nov. 13, 1953 in Miami, which ended with a 26-0 victory for the Hurricanes.
• Virginia Tech is 8-6 all-time against Miami in Blacksburg and has won four of its last five games against the 'Canes at Lane Stadium.
• This will be the first November meeting between Tech and Miami in Blacksburg since a 44-14 victory for the Hokies on Nov. 17, 2007.
• The Hokies are 4-2 all-time against Miami in November games played in Lane Stadium.
• Last season was the first time since 2010 that both Tech and Miami played each other while both were ranked in the Top 25.
• Prior to that meeting, the Hokies and the Hurricanes were both unranked in three straight meetings between 2014-16.
• Tech is 2-7 against Miami when both squads are unranked.
 
VIRGINIA TECH-MIAMI CONNECTIONS
• Miami offensive line coach Stacy Searels served in the same role at Virginia Tech from 2014-15.
• Greg Nosal, currently an offensive quality control analyst with the Hurricanes, was a three-year letterwinner at Virginia Tech from 2009-11.
• Nosal was an offensive lineman who earned All-ACC honors as a senior.
• Daniel Bogenschutz, the Hurricanes' assistant director of equipment, worked in the Hokies' equipment room from 2014-15.
• Virginia Tech has nine Florida natives on its roster: Jeremy Webb (East Mims), Chamarri Conner (Jacksonville), Caleb Steward (Jacksonville), Rico Kearney (Jacksonville), Jarrod Hewitt (Venice), Kyle Chung (Ponte Vedra Beach), Chris Cunningham (Jacksonville), Oscar Shadley (Naples), Robert Porcher (Orlando).
