Redshirt senior Regan Magarity led the Hokies with 18 points on 9 of 13 shooting from the field and also pulled down 11 rebounds as Tech improved to 2-0 on the young season. Magarity, whose 34 career double-doubles ranks first all-time, has begun the season with two consecutively as has junior college transfer Trinity Baptiste. The sophomore forward recorded a game high 12 rebounds and 13 points off of the bench.
Senior guard Taylor Emery, knocked down three 3's on the afternoon and finished with 14 points, but she also left with a double-double after tallying 10 rebounds for only the second time in her career.
For the Hokies, it was just the fourth time in program history that three different players recorded double-doubles in the same game and the first time it has happened since 1986.

Emery connected on a buzzer beater at the end of the quarter to give the Hokies a 22-6 advantage.
Tech spread the ball around well again, with point guard Dara Mabrey recording six assists and the team tallying 19 on 31 made field goals. The Hokies were balanced in the scoring column again as well, with four players in double figures, including Mabrey's 12. Kendyl Brooks had six, Aisha Sheppard added five, Rachel Camp and Erinn Brooks each scored four points and Shaniya Jones added a bucket.
