PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Junior Natalie Novotna picked up a ranked win on the second day of main draw competition at the 2018 Riviera ITA Women's Tennis All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, California.
 
Novotna defeated Michigan's 33rd-ranked Guilia Pairone in straight sets, winning the first set 6-2. In the second set, the two kept it close and were tied at 6 to force the tiebreak where Novotna held on to win it 7-6(6).
 
In the second match of the day, Novotna faced the nation's 10th-ranked Michaela Gordon of Stanford. The two battled it out to three sets with Novotna winning the first 6-4 before the Cardinal player rallied to take the second and third 6-1, 6-4.

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. –
Virginia Tech junior Natalie Novotna opened competition on Thursday at the 2018 ITA Women's Tennis All-American Championships at Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, California.
 
Novotna, ranked 32nd, faced the nation's No. 8 and All-American Katarina Jokic of Georgia. The Bulldogs' player advanced with the 6-3, 6-1 win.
 
Novotna will be back on the court for consolation matches beginning Friday.
