Q: Why did you choose Virginia Tech?
VanBuren: I thought that when I visited here the people were nice. I was originally committed to Winthrop with Coach Sung, but once I got here I just loved everything about the campus and the facilities.
Q: What was your favorite thing about your visit?
VanBuren: I thought the campus was pretty with Hokie Stone everywhere.
Q: What do you like about Coach Sung and the lacrosse program?
VanBuren: I like that he is really tough on us. He knows that we can be great and he has a plan to get us there.
Q: What are some of your strengths on the field?
VanBuren: Hustling and working hard.
Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete?
VanBuren: Alex Morgan, I've always followed soccer.
Q: What is your most memorable lacrosse moment and why?
VanBuren: Winning a summer tournament and getting the winning assist in the game.
Q: What interests you about business?
VanBuren: I took marketing in high school and I applied business undecided. I think that after this year I am going to declare marketing as my major. I like how many options there are in business, there are a lot to choose from.
Q: What's one thing you'd want Virginia Tech fans to know about you?
VanBuren: I am really dedicated to the sport and really determined to be successful.
Q: What has been your favorite part about Virginia Tech so far?
VanBuren: I have enjoyed hanging out with all the girls on the team and going to football games.
Do you have any pregame superstitions?
VanBuren: I normally wear the same sports bra every game and I wear my hair the same.
What kind of music do you listen to before games?
VanBuren: Rap, Hannah Montana, and Justin Bieber.
Who is your favorite rapper?
VanBuren: Drake and Lil Uzi Vert.
What do you like to do in your free time?
VanBuren: I like to color, listen to music, hangout, workout, and watch Netflix.
What do you watch on Netflix?
VanBuren: Friday Night Lights, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and Prison Break.
Have you gotten homesick going to school so far from home?
VanBuren: Surprisingly no I have not.
