Hokies step out of conference one final time with fixture at Davidson Tuesday

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men's soccer team will travel to Davidson from the Atlantic 10 Conference for the final non-conference matchup of the season on Tuesday night. The trip comes on the heels of a three-game winning streak that has seen the Hokies net 12 goals, including five in the second half of a thrilling 5-2 victory at sixteen-ranked Notre Dame this past Friday night.

As a result, the Hokies have moved up to number eight in the RPI rankings heading into the final week of the regular season.

Sophomore forward Kristo Strickler has been stellar, particularly in the last two matches, where he scored eight points (three goals and two assists) earning himself ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors, the first of his career. He scored the game-winner against the Irish, a fantastic curled effort to the back post.

An on-field ceremony pregame will honor Tech's lone senior, midfielder Rory Slevin as well as longtime student trainer Ellie Kelly.
