Quashie’s goal not enough as Hokies fall in double overtime Tuesday night

BLACKSBURG – The No. 19 Virginia Tech men's soccer team played its second consecutive double overtime fixture at Thompson Field Tuesday night, facing the South Carolina Gamecocks. Tech struck first, through Nico Quashie in the 17thminute of the match, but the Gamecocks tied it up before the break and would go on to score the game winner with 20 ticks left on the clock in double overtime.

Kristo Strickler played in Quashie on the right wing where he took a big touch past his defender and worked into the box. From there, the forward moved the ball onto his favored left foot and used the outside of the boot to place the ball inside the far post. Quashie has now scored in two straight matches.
