Willis and Floyd collect ACC honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Following Virginia Tech's 31-14 victory over No. 22 Duke on Saturday night, Ryan Willis and Reggie Floyd have been named ACC Players of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Willis collected quarterback of the week honors and Reggie Floyd earned defensive back of the week accolades after two impressive individual performances in the victory in Durham.

Willis (6-4, 223) completed 17 of 27 passes for 332 yards and three touchdowns against the Blue Devils. The Overland Park, Kansas native made his first start since 2016 when he was a signal caller for Kansas. The redshirt-junior threw for the most passing yards since at least 1987 for a Tech quarterback in his first start. His three touchdowns of 27,67 and 10 yards set a new career high.

Floyd (6-0, 222) tallied eight tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception and one pass breakup in his 16th career start for the Hokies. The Manassas, Virginia native's 2.5 tackles for loss set a new career high, while his first interception of the season and fourth of his career set up a Brian Johnson field goal that gave Tech an early 3-0 lead.

Willis, Floyd and the rest of the Hokies return to Lane Stadium this Saturday for a 8 p.m. ET kickoff against Notre Dame.
