Virginia Tech head men's basketball coach Buzz Williams has announced that Ryan Nadeau has been hired as director of player personnel for the Hokies. In that role, he will work primarily with the program's video and technology needs.
Nadeau comes to the Hokies' program after serving two seasons as a Basketball Operations Associate with the Chicago Bulls of the NBA. With the Bulls, Nadeau worked in the video operations for the team. He also worked closely with the analytics team, helping with scouting and player development.
"I am excited to add Ryan to our staff," Williams said. "He brings an NBA background and a fresh look to our staff. His experience with video and analytics will benefit all areas of our program. He also has a strong background in major college basketball and knows what it takes to compete at a high level. He is a great fit for our group."
Prior to his time with the Bulls, Nadeau was a student manager for the Michigan State men's basketball program for three seasons. With the Spartans, Nadeau worked closely with video breakdown, using the same software and techniques employed by the Hokies. He assisted in all areas of the program and was a part of the team's trip to the 2015 NCAA Final Four. He also worked two summers as a camp administrator with the program.
"Joining Coach Williams and his staff at Virginia Tech is an incredible opportunity," Nadeau said. "I am thrilled to be a part of this world-class university and basketball program, and I look forward to bringing my college and pro experience to a group of highly talented student athletes."
Nadeau graduated from Michigan State in 2016 with a bachelor of science degree in economics. Before attending Michigan State, he played two seasons of basketball at Calvin College
