Hokie wrestling adds Davidson as director of operations

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head coach Tony Robie announced Monday the hiring of Tucker Davidson as director of wrestling operations.

Davidson is a 2016 graduate of Virginia Tech and recently earned his Master's degree in sport management from Old Dominion. As director of wrestling operations, Davidson will serve as the program's point of contact with all departments within Virginia Tech Athletics and will be heavily involved with other key areas including alumni outreach, recruiting visits and matchday events.

"We are really excited to have Tucker with us as he'll play a valuable role as our director of wrestling operations," said Robie.  "Tucker will be involved within all aspects of our program outside of the wrestling room and will help alleviate much of the administrative responsibilities that have previously fallen on the shoulders of our coaches."

This past year, Davidson was an athletics marketing coordinator at Old Dominion where he created and developed marketing plans for multiple sports after working as a graduate assistant in the sport management department at ODU. He received his Master's in May 2018.

Davidson earned his bachelor's in business administration in 2016. The Virginia Beach native also worked in the Hokies' wrestling room as a team manager for four years.
