BLACKSBURG –Virginia Tech redshirt senior offensive lineman Kyle Chung has been selected to Rimington Trophy Watch List, the award's committee announced Friday.

The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the most outstanding center in NCAA Division I college football. Since its inception, the seventeen-year old award has raised over $3.6 million for the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which is committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis.

Chung started all 13 games at right tackle for the Hokies last season before moving over to center this past spring. In 2016, Chung started at center vs. Tennessee (9/10/16) and vs. Boston College (9/17/16). He also saw time that season against East Carolina, Duke, Notre Dame and Virginia. Chung's father, Eugene, was an All-American offensive lineman at Virginia Tech from 1988-91 and was a first-round draft pick of New England in 1992.

Season tickets for the general public are currently on sale and will be available with locations beginning July 9. The first ever meeting in Lane Stadium between the Hokies and Notre Dame on Oct. 6 and a clash with defending Coastal Division champions Miami on Nov. 17 highlight the home slate. Thursday night football will also return to its rightful home in Blacksburg on Oct. 25 when the Hokies take on Georgia Tech. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by clicking here.
