BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men's and women's swimming and diving programs have been named Scholar All-America Teams for the spring 2018 semester while 16 individuals earned honors for the year, as announced by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America.
Both teams earned the honor in the fall as well. This semester the men turned in a GPA of 3.09 while the women had the top GPAs in the Virginia Tech athletic department with a 3.54.
The individual first team selections recognize students that have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in the NCAA Championships. Honorable mention honors are given to those who have a 3.50 GPA and have achieved a "B" time standard or competed at NCAA Diving Zones.
The awards wrap up another successful academic season for the Hokies. From this list, Ashlynn Peters and Ian Ho were also named to the All-ACC Academic Team. They were joined by Adriana Grabski, Maggie Gruber, Joelle Vereb, Harrison Pierce and Ben Schiesl.
Tech also placed 16 men and 30 women on the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
