BLACKSBURG – Making the trek east to Lynchburg, Virginia, the Virginia Tech track and field teams will compete on Wednesday at the Liberty Twilight to close the regular season.

The one-day meet will commence at 11:30 a.m. ET with the discus throw at Matthes-Hopkins Outdoor Track.

All five of Tech's disciplines will make the two-hour drive to Lynchburg, marking the second time this season the Hokies have gone to the home of the Flames. Tech went to the Liberty Kickoff on Jan. 27 during the indoor season.

The Hokies are No. 19 on the women's side in the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Top 25 rankings, announced on Monday. Tech is one of two schools from the ACC to be ranked on the women's side, with Miami coming in at No. 20.

Last weekend, Tech put together five first-place finishes at the inaugural National Relay Championships on the campus of Arkansas. Distance runners Vincent Ciattei and Rachel Pocratskyswept the 1,500-meter race on both sides, while each ran the anchor on the 4x800-meter relays that took first, and Torben Laidig won the pole vault.

Among ACC student-athletes, 40 times and marks from Tech rank inside the top 10 of the league. Nationally, the Hokies own 13 times and marks that sit inside the top 25.

The Liberty Kickoff will be Tech's last meet before the ACC Outdoor Championships from May 10-12 in Miami, Florida.
