Hokie ClubThe Virginia Tech women's golf team will take its third straight trip to Georgia to compete in the Brickyard Collegiate, presented by Mizuno. The three-day tournament will be played at the par 72, 6,155-yard Brickyard Golf Course in Macon, Georgia, April 8-10.
The Hokies will be looking to gain momentum with a strong showing at the Brickyard, the final regular season event for Tech. Following the Brickyard, the Hokies' next event will be the 2018 ACC Women's Golf Championship April 21-23 at the Grandover East Course in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The 15-team field at Brickyard is highlighted by No. 27 Vanderbilt. The 54th-ranked Hokies are one of two ACC teams in the field, being joined by 34th-ranked Florida State. In all, seven top 75 teams will be looking to better their national rankings in Macon.
Tech will start a familiar line-up in Macon. Elizabeth Bose will play in the first position for the Hokies. The junior from Norfolk, Virginia, leads the Hokies in scoring average. She has finished in the top 25 in all four spring events and picked up her own and the program's first-ever individual title, when she won the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Florida in March.
Amanda Hollandsworth is in the second spot for Tech. The redshirt junior from Floyd, Virginia, is second on the team in scoring average and had her best-ever finish at the 3M Augusta Invitational three weeks ago, where she posted a third-place finish.
Emily Mahar is third for Tech. The freshman from Brisbane, Australia, is third in scoring average, but leads the team in final round scoring average. She opened the spring with a fifth-place finish at the Moon Golf Invitational in Florida.
Jessica Spicer plays in the fourth position again this week. The sophomore from Bahama, North Carolina, is fourth on the team in scoring and final round scoring.
Rounding out the starting line-up is Allison Woodward. The redshirt junior from Unicoi, Tennessee, returns to the starting five for the first time since the Moon Golf Invitational in late February.
The Hokies will play a practice round on Saturday and begin tournament competition on Sunday morning. There will be 18 holes of competition on each Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday and Monday and a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday morning. Tech will be grouped with ETSU and North Florida in Sunday's first round, with the first player off the first tee at 10:10 a.m.
