NEWTON, MA – Despite Meagh Graham's eight saves, the Virginia Tech lacrosse team fell 9-7 to second-ranked Boston College (16-0, 6-0) Saturday afternoon. Tech falls to 11-5 (4-2) in the ACC ahead of next Saturday's Commonwealth Clash showdown with Virginia.
With the win, the Eagles clinched the ACC's regular season crown and the one-seed for the ACC Championships held in Durham, North Carolina April 26-29.
Graham set the tone for the Hokies early when she came up with several saves from free position opportunities and she had tallied six saves by the intermission. The redshirt senior also came up with four ground balls on the afternoon.
In the second half, the Hokies battled back from a 5-2 deficit, ultimately tying the game at seven goals apiece from Taylor Caskey.

Paige Petty and Marissa Davey paced Tech's attack scoring two goals each, while Mary Claire Byrne and Julia Bolte each added a tally.
On the defensive end, Tech held the Eagles to its fewest offensive total of the season at just nine goals.
Kelly Glatthorn stuffed the stat sheet again on Saturday, securing three draws, three ground balls and causing a turnover. The defender also tallied an assist on the game's opening goal to Davey.
Leigh Lingo grabbed five ground balls and forced two turnovers in her seventh consecutive start.
Sam Apuzzo tallied four scores and Dempsey Arsenault and Kaileen Hart each recorded three points for the Eagles.
Next up – The Hokies will return home to face in-state rival Virginia in a Commonwealth Clash contest on Saturday, April 21 at 1 p.m. The game will be played in Lane Stadium.
The game will serve as Senior Day for the Hokies' eight seniors; Tristan McGinley, Brittney VanVeldhuisen, Carly Primo, Emma Harden, Kristen Kohles, Graham, Glatthorn and Davey.
