The Virginia Tech women's Lacrosse team got off to a quick start scoring the first four goals of the match, before a run by the Cardinals saw the Hokies trailing 4-6. Louisville would hold on to the lead until a goal by Paige Petty with 10:27 remaining in the game as the hokies were able to take down the Cardinals.
With the win, the seventeenth-ranked Hokies move to 10-4 on the season and 3-1 in ACC play. The three ACC wins are the most single season ACC wins in program history.
The Cardinals were led in scoring by attacker Tessa Chad who scored five times. Madilin Hoover and Jillian Balog both tallied three goals for the Cardinals (6-7, 0-4).
Petty had a day for the Hokies, recording a career-high seven goals to go along with one assist, three ground balls and nine draw controls. Her seventh and final goal at 10:27 put the Hokies up for good.

Taylor Caskey also set a career-high with four goals. Zan Biedenharn, Tristan McGinley, and Marissa Davey all found their way onto the scoresheet
The Cardinals were quicker to loose balls on the day, grabbing 24 ground balls to the Hokies 17. Tech did however win the battle in the center circle (16-14).
Meagh Graham came up big in the waning moments of the game to presevre the Hokies win. She finished with six saves on the day.
