Erick Green scored 30 points and the Hokies led by as many as 12 points in the first half, but could not hold on and lost 73-64, to No. 14/15 Miami in Cassell Coliseum on Wednesday night. Jarell Eddie scored 14 points and Cadarian Raines added 10 points and eight rebounds off the bech for the Hokies.

Erick Green has been named a watch list finalist for the Bob Cousey Award, given annually to the top point guard in the nation. Green has also been named to the John R. Wooden Award’s Midseason Top 25. Wooden Award given to nation’s best player.

Erick Green’s 35 points in the loss to Virginia marks the most points by an ACC player in a game this season. Green has three of the ACC’s seven 30-plus point games this season.
The Hokies’ two largest comeback victories this season have come in their two overtime games, both victories. Tech was down 13 points against Bradley and 11 points at Georgia Tech.
