Tech to host Wisconsin in ACC/BigTen Challenge

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech women's basketball team will host Wisconsin on Wednesday, Nov. 28 as part of the annual ACC/BigTen Challenge event. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum.

The Series
- The series is tied 1-1 between the Hokies and the Badgers. The two teams last met in 2008 when Wisconsin claimed a 61-52 win in Madison, Wis. That game was also part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
- Virginia Tech’s win was in the 1998 NCAA Tournament when the Hokies defeated the Badgers 75-64 in Gainesville, Fla.
- The Hokies are 6-14 all-time against teams from the Big Ten. In addition to Wisconsin, Tech will face three teams from the Big Ten this season and have already played Michigan State. The Hokies will also host Penn State on Dec. 12. This is the first time the Hokies have hosted the ACC/Big Ten Challenge since the 2009-10 season.

The Hokies
- Virginia Tech defeated George Washington, 50-31 the last time out.
- The Hokies were led by Monet Tellier with 19 points while Nia Evans added nine. Taijah Campbell grabbed 11 rebounds and Alyssa Fenyn handed out six assists.
- Tellier leads the Hokies on the season, averaging 8.8 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game. Fenyn is adding 7.5 ppg and handing out a team-best 4.8 assists per game to rank sixth in the ACC. Fenyn is second in the league and ninth in the NCAA in A/TO ratio at 3.8. Campbell is adding 7.0 ppg while recording a team-best 8.0 rebounds per game to rank 13th in the ACC.

The Badgers
- Wisconsin defeated Evansville, 73-55, in the team’s last game.
- Morgan Paige had 19 points to lead the Badgers. Tiera Stephen added 13 and Taylor Wurtz posted 11. Cassie Rochel grabbed nine rebounds. Stephen dished out seven assists.
- Paige leads the Badgers with 14.8 points per game. Wurtz is averaging 12.6 ppg and pulling down 7.0 rebounds per game. AnnMarie Brown is grabbing a team-best 7.4 rpg. Stephen leads the team with 5.0 assists per game and is averaging 3.8 steals per game.
