Hokie ClubFormer Virginia Techgolfer Johnson Wagner finished in a tie for ninth place at the HyundaiTournament of Champions at the Plantation Course at Kapalua in Maui, Hawaii.Wagner shot a four-round total of 13-under-par 279, including a six-under-par67 in Monday’s final round.
Wagner, who claimed aberth in the winner’s-only event with a victory in last season’s Mayakoba Golf Classic, earned $165,000 with his finish. He willcompete in this week’s Sony Open in Hawaii, along with former Hokie teammateBrendon de Jonge.
