Harrison places fourth in semifinal heat, but does not advance to final of 400m hurdles at World Championships

FormerVirginia Tech track & field athlete and three-time NCAA Champion QueenHarrison placed fourth in her heat in the semifinal round of the women’s400-meter hurdles but failed to qualify for the final at the IAAF World Track& Field Championships in Daegu, South Korea on Tuesday morning.

Harrison,running in lane three of the second heat, placed fourth in a time of 55.44seconds. The top two places from each of the three heats automaticallyqualified for the final. The remaining two spots in the final went to the nexttwo fastest times among all three heats, but Harrison’s time was not among thatgroup.
