Hokie ClubATLANTA, Ga. – Two Hokies were in competition on the first day of the Yellow Jacket Invitational in Atlanta, Ga, with Dorotea Habazin and Denis Mahmic competing in the hammer throw.
Habazin started her indoor season strongly, winning the women’s hammer throw at 214-03 (65.30m), besting the rest of the field by nearly 20 feet. Mahmic followed suit, winning the men’s hammer throw at 196-09 (59.98m).
The rest of Virginia Tech’s competitors continue tomorrow with events set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
