Hokie ClubCHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia Tech men’s tennis opened play at the ITA Atlantic Regional in Charlottesville, Va. as Jonathan Pine advanced through the qualifying draw.
Pine received a bye in the opening round and faced Navy’s Blake Daniel in the second round. The Hokies’ player defeated Daniel in a tough three set match after falling behind in the opening set, 6-2. Pine responded to claim the next two sets with scores of 6-3, 7-5.
He advances to face George Mason’s Jimmy Davis in the main draw on Friday. Play will begin at 10 a.m. Friday morning.
