MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Logan Shinholser, Daniel Martin and Ryan Hawkins competed in the 3-meter springboard this evening in day two of the NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Minnesota. For the second day in a row, returning participant Logan Shinholser had the highest finish for the H2Okies, placing 26th. No H2Okies advanced to the finals.
Shinholser totaled a score of 322.70, placing 26th among the top divers in the country. Daniel Martin followed in 29th, with a score of 288.60, and Ryan Hawkins brought up the rear in 34th, scoring 255.20. For the second day in a row, David Boudia of Purdue brought home the gold, scoring a 472.30 in the finals. Grant Nel earned the silver for Texas A&M, missing the lead by less than a point, at 471.35, and Arizona State’s Constatin Blaha finished third (450.40). 2011 ACC Champions Nick McCrory of Duke just missed the podium, finishing fourth with a score of 431.00.
The competition wraps up tomorrow, as ACC Champion Logan Shinholser and his teammates take to the platform.
