Hokie ClubVirginia Tech freshman Jared Berman ran a personal best 8:55.33 in Friday’s 3,000m steeplechase at the IAAF World Junior Championships and will move on to Sunday’s finals. Berman placed sixth in his heat, 11th overall, and was one of 14 athletes to finish under 9:00.00 in a field of 30 athletes. Berman beat his personal best at Virginia Tech (9:04.76) by over nine seconds, and today’s finish would rank fourth all-time at Virginia Tech.
Sunday’s finals are scheduled for a 12:50 p.m. EST start.
