Green advances to State Amateur semifinals

Virginia Tech golfer Garland Green defeated Seth Norman of Suffolk, one up, and advanced to Friday afternoon's semifinal round of the 97thVSGA Amateur Championship at 6,940 yards par 72 Belle Haven CountryClub in Alexandria. Green, a rising senior from Tazewell, will tee off at 1 p.m. against two-time defending champion Brinson Paolini of Virginia Beach.
