Bailey remains in the mix at State Open

Virginia Tech golfer Marshall Baileycontinued his strong play on Saturday at the 2010 SunTrust State Openof Virginia at the 7,127 yards, par 72 Independence Golf Club inMidlothian. He leads a group of five current and future Hokies, allunder par for the tournament.


Bailey, a rising senior from Fincastle,shot an even-par 72 and is tied for seventh place at nine-under-par207. He is third among amateurs and is five strokes behind threeplayers who share the lead at 14-under-par 202. Bailey's third roundfeatured a birdie, a bogey and 16 pars.


Fellow rising seniors Aaron Eckstein,from Salem and Garland Green, from Tazewell, are tied for 29that one-under-par 215. Each shot a two-under-par 70 on Saturday. MikeyMoyers, a rising sophomore from Stanardsville, is tied for 34thplace at 216. Joining Moyers at even-par is Bryce Chalkey, who signedwith the Hokies in the fall and will join the team when the academicyear begins.
