SKILLMAN,N.J. - The third annual Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men'sKick-Off Weekend Draft was held today as teams selected which routethey would take to get to the 2011 ITA National Team IndoorChampionships.
TheITA Kick-Off Weekend, held January 28-31, features 15 host sites withfour teams at each site vying to advance to the Team IndoorChampionships. The 15 schools that win both of their matches at theseevents will be invited to play in the Feb. 18-21 ITA National TeamIndoor Championships in Seattle, WA, hosted by the University ofWashington
TheNo. 1 team in each site will face the No. 4 team. The No. 2 team willface the No. 3 team. Two matches are guaranteed - the winners/loserswill play the following day.
Tech, ranked No. 24, in the final 2010 ITA national poll, will travel to Durham, N.C. to play Pepperdine in the first while the host Blue Devils take on Michigan. Pepperdine ended the 2010 season with a No. 21 national ranking while Duke was No. 14 and Michigan was No. 26.
