De Jonge near the top of the leaderboard at US Open

Former Hokie golfer Brendon de Jonge shot atwo-over-par 73 and is tied for sixth after two rounds of the US Open at thePebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California on Friday. De Jonge is ateven-par 142 for the championship and trails leader Graeme McDowell by threestrokes.

De Jonge entered the day tied for the lead.This is his first major championship appearance. He will be paired with PaulCasey in the third round on Saturday afternoon in the fourth-to-last group.
