Via undergoes successful knee surgery

Virginia Tech offensive lineman Michael Via underwent successful surgery Thursday to repair a stretched ACL in his right knee, according to head athletic trainer Mike Goforth. The surgery, which was a complete ACL reconstruction, was performed at Montgomery Regional Hospital by Dr. Marc Siegel. Goforth said Via will be out anywhere from four to eight months. Via started three games last year at center for the Hokies.
