Hokie ClubRALEIGH, N.C. -- Virginia Tech guard Malcolm Delaney has been named to the All-District 3 team by the United States Basketball Writers Association, as announced by the national organization on Tuesday.
A junior from Baltimore, Md., Delaney led the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring this season and was a unanimous selection to the All-ACC first team, as announced yesterday. He is also the current ACC Player of the Week, for his performances in wins over NC State and Georgia Tech last week.
Also on Tuesday, Delaney was named to the Sporting News fourth-team All-America squad. Seven of the 10 players on the USBWA District 3 team are from the ACC. District 3 consists of colleges and universities from Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and South Carolina.
