Hokies fourth seed in ACC Tournament

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech men's basketball team has earned the fourth seed in the 57th annual ACC Tournament, to be played at the Greensboro Coliseum March 11-14. The Hokies tied Florida State for third place with a conference mark of 10-6.

The Hokies will open play in the tournament at 2 p.m., on Friday afternoon against the winner of Thursday's #5 Wake Forest vs. #12 Miami game. Thursday's game will also begin at 2 p.m. Virginia Tech's first game will be televised live by Raycom and ESPN2. All games of the tournament will be broadcast live on the Virginia Tech ISP Network.

Duke, which shared the regular season title with Maryland, is the top seed in the four-day event. The Terps are the second seed and Florida State is the third seed. Virginia Tech is 23-7 overall.

This is the fourth time in Virginia Tech's six years in the league that the Hokies have earned a first-round bye. Virginia Tech advanced to the quarterfinals of last year's tournament.
