Hosley named National Defensive Player of the Week

New Haven, Conn. – The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced its Football Bowl Subdivision National Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for games ending Oct. 2.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - LaMICHAEL JAMES, OREGON

Oregon sophomore running back LaMichael James rushed for a career-high 257 yards (on 30 carries) and three touchdowns as the fourth-ranked Ducks defeated ninth-ranked Stanford, 52-31. James had scoring runs of 5, 3 and 76 yards as Oregon scored the final 28 points of the contest and improved to 5-0, 2-0 in the Pac-10.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - JAYRON HOSLEY, VIRGINIA TECH

Sophomore cornerback Jayron Hosley had three interceptions and four pass breakups as Virginia Tech came from behind to defeated 23rd-ranked North Carolina State, 41-30.  Hosley added six tackles (5 solo) as the Hokies rallied from a 17-point deficit to improve to 3-2, 2-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
