Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech will hold the third annual “Late Night with the Hokies,” presented by US Cellular and the University Bookstore, on Friday, Oct. 15, following the volleyball match against ACC foe Wake Forest.
The festivities will begin in Cassell Coliseum at approximately 9 p.m. (following the completion of the volleyball match) and last approximately an hour. All fans are invited to attend and admission is free. The first 3,000 fans will receive a special “Late Night with the Hokies” t-shirt. Coupons for t-shirts will be given out at the promotions booth in the concourse of Cassell Coliseum beginning at intermission of the volleyball match, which begins at 7 p.m.
“We’re proud to be building on the tradition of Late Night with the Hokies,” head men’s basketball coach Seth Greenberg said. “This year’s festivities will be part of our Homecoming celebration weekend. This will give us an opportunity to interact with our students, community and season ticket holders. To support Late Night festivities, we will have our first Chalk Talk in D2 at noon on the 15th. I’m excited as we begin to celebrate what we expect to be an exciting season.”
“Late Night With the Hokies is the perfect setting to kick off basketball season,” head women’s basketball coach Beth Dunkenberger said. “Our students and fans help make Cassell the most electric place to play in the ACC and we’re excited to start the season.”
Along with introductions of each team, this year’s lineup of activities includes many entertaining acts and skits by members of both teams. Also, this year, there will be a Seth Greenberg impersonation contest. The contest is open to all fans. Those wishing to enter should submit a video no longer than one minute in length, performing their impersonation of Seth Greenberg. Entries should either be dropped off at the Virginia Tech Sports Marketing Office at 366 Jamerson Athletic Center, emailed to bdigiacomo@vt.edu or mailed to 366 Jamerson Athletic Center, Attn: Brent DiGiacomo, Blacksburg, VA 24061. All entries must be received by Monday, October 11th. Three finalists out of all entries will be selected and perform live for fans at “Late Night with the Hokies” in Cassell Coliseum.
