Hokie ClubVirginia Tech associate head golf coach Brian Sharp is the assistant coach for the USA team that begins play Thursday morning at the 2010 Palmer Cup at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Port Rush, Northern Ireland. The Palmer Cup is an international collegiate event between the United States and Great Britain and Ireland.
Sharp earned his position by being named the recipient of the 2009 Jan Strickland Award Presented by TaylorMade-Adidas to the Assistant Coach of the Year, as selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Chris Zambri, the head coach at Southern California, is the head coach of the eight member USA team.
