Olhovsky to compete in the World Championships

Rising senior Yavgeniy Olhovsky is set to compete in the 12th IAAF World Championships in Berlin, Germany on Thursday for Israel after qualifying for the event in the pole vault.
Olhovsky earned a bid to the World Championships by winning the pole vault at the Israel Athletics Championship in Jerusalem, Israel back in July. The Petah Tivka, Israel native jumped 17-10.75 to defeat legendary Israeli pole vaulter Alex Averbukh and claim the national championship.
Olhovksy is scheduled to compete in the prelims of the event at 4:10 a.m. EDT on Thursday. The finals of the pole vault will be held on Saturday 12:15 p.m. EDT.
